Frequently Asked Questions
What’s your weather policy?
Our vessel has a roof and weather protection in the event of inclement weather. A passing shower is pretty typical for Sydney summers and in our experience, a little rain never dampens spirits and it rarely lasts too long. We do a weather check 48 hours before departure and again on the day and if the weather is deemed to be unsafe, then we can offer you the opportunity to postpone for another date or get a refund. Note that guests cannot choose to cancel due to weather conditions, it is at the company’s discretion, based on your safety and well-being.
Can I bring a baby?
Yes, it is permitted to bring a baby, but you must look after them the whole time and bring a bassinet or pusher, so best we discuss the situation first. We also have child lifejackets available.
Do you supply food & drinks?
We provide complimentary bottled water. You are welcome to BYO ($100 surcharge may apply), however we can provide gourmet lunches, seafood platters and alcohol packages.
Can I purchase a gift voucher?
Yes, contact us and we can arrange it.
How do I pay?
We accept all credit cards, PayPal, and bank transfer.
What are your Payment Terms?
Full payment at time of booking. Refundable up to 7 days prior to departure. If the booking is for several months in advance we can consider payment terms.
What is the Cancellation policy?
100% refund up to 14 days prior to charter.
Is the boat wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately, our boat is not wheelchair accessible. If you think mobility may be an issue, please contact us to discuss the suitability for your group.
Can we BYO?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own food and alcoholic beverages. We provide complimentary bottled water and have two small fridges. We charge a surcharge for BYO to cover the cost of providing clean glasses, cutlery and crockery.
What type of boat is it?
See details here.
Will I get wet?
It’s unlikely but there can be the occasional small splash of water due to strong wind or passing ferries, however, towels and wind jackets are provided should you need them. But we’ve never had any complaints and the only time you’ll really get wet is when you go swimming!
Can we go fishing?
No, there is no fishing on our VIP boat.
What should I bring?
We recommend all guests bring sun protection, but also a jacket because it can get a bit chilly on the water, even in summer. Bring swimmers and your own towel if you’d like a dip.
Is there an onboard toilet?
Yes, our boat has onboard toilet facilities.
Can we smoke onboard?
No, smoking is prohibited on the boat.
Can I play my own music?
Yes, our boat is equipped with a bluetooth audio system.
Are the waters choppy or dangerous?
Our boat stays in enclosed harbour waters (unless you’re doing a sea safari) and we’re never more than 5 minutes from land. Therefore, conditions are usually very calm, however due to the number of boats on Sydney Harbour, there is occasionally small waves or ‘boat wash’ that can rock the boat. However, our boat is designed and built for offshore cruising, so it is very stable and meets strict Sydney Harbour Maritime safety regulations.
Is it suitable for the elderly?
We’ve hosted guests in their 80s who are relatively fit and mobile and who’ve had hugely enjoyable experiences. So, age is not a barrier, just attitude and mobility. But best to discuss with us first.
Can I wear shoes on the boat?
No, we will ask you to remove your shoes and place them in a bag on arrival. It is a bare foot boat to protect the flooring.
Is your boat properly insured & safe?
Our boat operates with a $10 million public liability insurance. It is fully compliant and registered with the Australian marine authorities AMSA and RMS to carry passengers commercially on Sydney Harbour. This includes annual tests by certified marine surveyors to check that all current commercial safety standards are in place. The boat also undergoes twice monthly mechanical checks. All our captains are highly experienced and hold the appropriate commercial qualifications.
